These are all Sinners who have some obsession with the past or the way things were. They drag their feet about meeting the future head on. They are intractable and they turn away from truths that they don't want to acknowledge. Despite Adela's assertion that she's just leaving her worries behind and moving forward with her life, all of her choices are still predicated by past emotional trauma. We already know one path for Adela and I'm not opposed to repeating her canon rehabilitation. In her post-event interrogation segment, the Chief is able to interface with Adela's memories due to their connection through the Mania. She's able to learn about Adela's hard childhood and deep mother wound. She is then able to talk to and push Adela on the point. Although initially rebuffed on the topic, the Chief is then able to set up a meeting between Adela and her mother where only Adela recognizes the other party. Adela does her mother's hair and listens to her talk about where her life has gone and the odd way that losing all memory of her child has effected her. Adela leaves this meeting thinking that perhaps her mother wasn't the person she thought she was. While this didn't completely heal the relationship and the two part ways again, it does get Adela thinking about what life might look like if she pushed through some of her doubts and fears sometimes instead of simply cutting everything off. With this summary in mind, finding out about Adela's inciting incident (being 'abandoned' by her mother) is a good door to start pushing on. The central lesson is that some friction is to be expected in relationships [of all kinds] and persevering and trying to learn more about where the other party is coming from can be rewarding. We know from her interrogation route that she needs to be forced into consistency. Not being able to escape the Barge [in canon it's the MBCC bureau/jail] helps. In general, she also needs to get back in touch with herself and what she cares about most after forgetting for so long. How we go about those lessons is open! I think Adela is a mellow enough character that a lot of different approaches could work for her. The only approach that really defies the lesson itself: tough love. Being mocked our otherwise negged is really not the way with this girl.</blockquote> <b>Bee's playstyle:</b> I absolutely can discuss and do some planning, but I mostly prefer to just set things up as events and reactions to things crop up. And just see how it goes. I live in chronic illness land and can also be very up/down regarding availability.
